Hi, my name is LaDonna Akens Elam. I am 65 and had my stroke August 20, 2016. At this point in my life, I am separated from my spouse, I have four grown kids, 30 some odd grandkids and for great grandsons. Before I got married, I used to write poetry often but then I quit. Since my stroke has been the only way I could get my feelings out. And I am so thankful for all the wonderful people that helped me to be able to do it!
Jan Burl lives in northern NY. She is a children’s book author, artist, poet, lover of the mountains and dragons. A motivational speaker on stroke/Traumatic Brain Injury, she finds beauty and inspiration in everything. She tells everyone “Make every day an extraordinary day.”
