
Hannah Hornsey is a poet and Speech-Language Pathologist living in Philadelphia, PA. She received a Master of Fine Arts in Poetry from NYU in 2021 and went on to receive a Master’s of Science from NYU in Communicative Sciences and Disorders in 2024.
Her greatest poetic influences include; Catherine Barnett, Diane Suess, Caki Wilkinson, Terrance Hayes, and James Tate.
Hannah is most interested in the evolution of languages, etymologies, and the ways in which brains process language.
Hannah is a valued team member at Poems in Speech and prior to each session, she chooses the prompt, to inspire the poets’ writing.
Mark was a national plaster instructor and on February 1, 2018, he had a heart attack and stroke, leaving him with aphasia and low vision. Mark lost his career but found a passion in poetry and aphasia advocacy. Mark is the founder of Poems in Speech, an instrumental part of the Mid-Atlantic Aphasia Conference, and a National Aphasia Association Ambassador. “Get the Word Out! Aphasia!”
